Babies, Pets and Travel – The Dotcom Axis of Evil

This evening I was working with my Info Architect, going through resumes and trying to find a designer that didn’t totally suck. (The good people got to keep their jobs apparently). After going through stacks of resumes you start to find trends and the one she found was that an insane percentage of the applicants had, at one time or another, worked for or at BabyCenter.com. The transcript is below but I know that I personally am responsible for or was involved in flushing probably $1.5million down the drain on travel related dotcoms.

Which leads to the real question: Does anyone have the total amount of money lost on Babies, Pets and Travel dotcoms over the last 10 years? It must be an astronomical sum.

did babycenter employ like 50% of our generation during the late 90's and early 2000?
i've seen that place listed on more resumes than i can count

Me 10:47
babies and pets
pure cash

Info Architect 10:48
have you owned a business focusing on either?

Me 10:48
no but I thought about it, I did travel instead
there you go
travel, babies and pets
the unholy dotcom trifecta
the dotcom axis of evil

Info Architect 10:49
wow, that's quite the catchy phrase

Me 10:49
It would be interesting to see how much money those three concepts destroyed
